Sloppy Joes

Score big with your fans on game day with these...

Grandma Ginny calls them Barbecue Beef, I call them Sloppy Joes, whatever you call them they are always a winner at a pot luck or party.  This recipe has simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand and it is quick and easy to make a batch and throw in the crock pot.  It is a sweet and tangy sauce and is a great dish to serve a crowd.  I especially like them at a picnic or party where you don't want to be a slave to the grill or the oven!

Sloppy Joes
2 lbs. ground beef
1 large onion chopped

1 14 oz. Ketchup
1 Tbs. prepared mustard
1 Tbs. vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions:  Brown ground beef and chopped onion in pan until meat is no longer pink and onion is translucent drain and set aside.  Stir together Ketchup, mustard, vinegar, sugar, water, salt & pepper in pan and simmer for about 15 mins.  Add the meat back into the pan with the sauce and simmer another 10 minutes.  Serve on buns.

Notes:  This recipe is easily doubled or tripled for larger groups and is great served from the crock pot on warm.  They also freeze well!
