Easy Korean Beef Bowl

Not all Pinterest recipes are as good as they look, but this one is definitely a winner!  This is quick easy meal that has the taste of Korean bbq but uses ground beef instead of sliced sirloin and isn't marinated over night as in the traditional dish Bulgogi. It is a super delicious, economical, and really quick meal to put together, and in about 15 minutes you can have a yummy hot meal on the table! Served over a hot bed of rice and some stir fry veggies, it's a meal your family is sure to ask for again and again. I found a few different versions of this on pinterest from and and combined the two for a pinterest win! 

Easy Korean Beef Bowl
2 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. sesame oil (or canola oil)
6 cloves garlic
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger (or 1 tsp. fresh)
1/2 to 1 tsp. crushed red pepper (to taste for heat)
pepper to taste
2 green onions chopped (to cook in meat)
4 green onions chopped (to sprinkle on top)

Directions:  In small bowl whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, 2 chopped green onions,crushed red pepper, and pepper, set aside.  In skillet over medium heat brown ground beef and garlic in sesame oil until browned, drain fat.  Add the soy sauce mixture to the skillet with the browned meat and garlic, simmer until flavors are well blended and heated through.  Serve over a hot bed of rice and sprinkled with remaining chopped green onions, sesame seeds and crushed red pepper to taste.

I browned 2 chopped green onions in with the meat and used 
the other 4 to sprinkle on top after cooked, before serving

We served it over a bed of hot white rice with some 
stir fried pea pods on the side and everyone loved it....
