The Glory of Christmas

Paradise Found...

We love to take a few special field trips around the holidays. There are so many fun things to do this time of year and all you have to do is check your local paper, search the internet or ask your friends about upcoming Christmas shows, programs and activities.  Many churches put on special events like a living nativity, concerts and programs that you can find, and it is a great way to reflect on why we really celebrate Christmas!

Our good friends, Bob and Diane ask us to join them, and some other friends, at Northridge Church in Plymouth this year to see the Glory of Christmas. It was a Christmas extravaganza called "Paradise Found" and through flying angels, indoor fireworks, beautiful music with a full adult and children's choir, orchestra, dazzling lights, and a powerful videos, they told the story of the one who came to save the lost... Jesus.

It was an amazing program, that kept you captivate from the beginning to the end, there was never a dull moment and always something to watch.  It was filled with beautiful music, lights, snow, fireworks, live animals, and even an ice skating rink!

The church is huge, with a seating capacity for approximately 3,000 people and it was full. I believe the event goes on for 2 weekends for a total of 6 shows. I can't even begin to imagine what the budget must be to put on a show of that magnitude. What an amazing outreach for their church family to bring their friends and neighbors and share the story of Christmas. Even though it was a large church, you felt welcomed and the people working the event were very engaging. Also they said that the entire show was put on almost entirely by volunteers from the church and there must have been hundreds of them! It was almost like a professional Broadway show it was so well done.

I think they do a program every year, and if you live in the area I would highly recommend checking it out sometime... it was a great way to kick of the holiday's!

Thanks Bob and Diane for taking us to The Glory of Christmas!  It was the perfect way to begin our holiday season... enjoying the company of great friends, and experiencing the greatest story ever told in a way that won't soon be forgotten!
