So great served with a little individual bowl of broth for dipping, a french dip is a fun quick lunch or dinner idea.
Mini French Dip Sammies
Mini french bread or sub buns
Thinly sliced deli style roast beef
Onions, thinly sliced
Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
Beef broth (canned or made with beef base)
Directions: Cut sub buns in half if not already split and lay on baking pan. In pan on stove top make broth or heat can of broth. I put the sliced lunch meat in the broth to heat up a bit. In another small pan on stove top saute' thinly sliced onions in a drizzle of olive oil on medium heat until tender. When beef is warmed take out the slices of meat and let them drain a little, and lay on buns. Top with sauteed onions and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese. Place under broiler on high until cheese begins to melt and buns are slightly toasty. Serve sammies with little individual bowls of the warm broth for dipping.
I use this beef base in soups, stews and gravies, so i always have it on hand.
It worked great to make the french dip broth. It called for 1 tsp.
per 1 cup of water. Mix in pan and heat until warmed
I just used packaged deli style thinly sliced roast beef from Meijers
I put the beef in the broth on the stove top to heat
Saute' the onions in a drizzle of olive oil
I sauteed them until they were translucent and tender
and a little browned.

Layer buns with drained warm beef slices, onion, and mozzarella cheese, and
toast under broiler for a few minutes until cheese is melty,
and bun begins to toast.
Serve with a little dish of warm broth for dipping!
